This is just in from Benny Barton:
Greetings from the Spirit of 76′ Reunion Committee!
This email is being composed at 9:30pm on a beautiful evening here in Sarasota, after a Reunion Committee meeting, that just lasted three hours, that covered such details as Food Selections, Table Rentals, MIA Classmates, Band Selection, Decorations, Bookkeeping and Records Review, etc., etc. There really is a great deal of hard work being put in by a really dedicated group of folks.
We wanted to give you an update on the “State of the Reunion” so that you can stay informed of our upcoming festivities.
Hopefully you received the invitation we mailed out recently and you have had a chance to again review the activities we have planned.
We are now 3 months away from our Reunion Weekend and we have seen a lot of interest and have started to receive ticket orders for the weekend’s events, both from sales directly from the web site and from mail-in orders. You should remember that for your convenience, you can use a credit card to buy tickets on the web site but you can save the processing fees by mailing in your ticket orders. Mailing instructions were on your mailed invitation and are also listed on the web site.
At this time, in order to help us get a better feel for attendance, we have turned on an RSVP page on the Reunion Web Site www.rhsspiritof76.com and if you can’t purchase your tickets right now, we would greatly appreciate your RSVP so we can start to get more accurate counts of attendance to assist our planning process.
We ask that you please take the time to log on to the site and go to the RSVP page and indicate which of the events you will be attending.
If you do not plan to attend any of the Reunion Events, it would be a great help in our Reunion planning if you could please place a “NO” response in the Weekend Package category so we can get an accurate count of folks who we should not expect to be attending.
We would also at this time, like to thank those of you who have graciously donated extra money to help with the cost of the events and entertainment. We would greatly appreciate the generosity of anyone else who could afford to make an extra contribution.
In closing, we can not stress enough how much it would help us for you to submit an RSVP whether you plan to attend or not. For those of you who have already purchased tickets, we thank you for your prompt reply and we do not require you to submit an RSVP as you are most definitely already on the list!
Two additional reminders…
1. Ticket Prices Will Increase 10% After August 31st
2. The most common remark about the Classmates Listings on the Reunion Web Site is how people love to read about the happenings in peoples lives over the past 30 years. So if you did not enter any comments on your listing on the site, you should take the time and submit another sign-up on the site or email me with a few sentences or a lot for that matter, regarding your life since graduating Riverview. Just read some of the entries to get a feel for it and to get inspired.
As always, looking forward to seeing you at the Reunion!
